Finish-a-thon Master List

This is the Master-List for the Finish-a-thon 2005! The stories are due TODAY. Participants, post your story somewhere (a web page, your LJ) and give the link in a comment to this post; I will update the main post.

Your story must be posted whether it is finished or not. Whether it is beta-read or not. Just give us what you have so far, letting us know in the comment whether it is finished, unbetaed, or unfinished. But don't panic. I am allowing another week for participants, if they so desire, to post revised versions; just give another comment to this post, letting us know that there is a revised version available (and give an updated link if it needs one). I will update the master-list.

Note for readers: the stories here are an enormously wide mixture, from G to NC-17, gen to slash to anything in between. Caveat Emptor!

Well, when it's your ficathon, you set the rules. But in my limited experience, no matter *what* the rules are, someone's going to get confused by them, or ask to be excused from following them. It seems to be a law of fandom.

I hope you had more fun than annoyance out of this finishathon. :^) I enjoyed it, even though I didn't do as well as I'd hoped.

Yes, thanks very much for organising this. It's a great idea and you did well. I don't think I've ever been in a ficathon where people didn't default.

I'd give the dates in US ones next time, or the day before the one you want. I know some ficathons do ask for e-mail addresses then e-mail you with reminders, but that still doesn't stop some people from failing to produce anything.

I liked this whole idea because no one was left story-less which can happen in the sort where you write for someone else.

Thanks again. I hope you do another one as you said you might.

Despite my unfinishedness and inadequacies, I want to say thank you too.

I have to admit, I messed up on dates too but with considerably less excuse - I thought "oh, it's still 28th over there" and blithely forgot (none so forgetful as them that don't wanna remember) that you're not over there, you're over here...

But I have no excuse except lack of inspiration and overabundance of RL (the Family Letter is also late - I must write that tomorrow or get disowned).

And I'd like to echo the "thank you"s!

Sadly, I think it was only to be expected that a number of people didn't finish. (And, personally, if I were almost finished or just waiting on a beta, I'd doubtless have held off a couple of days, myself, rules or not, because my dislike of posting things unfinished is possibly even greater than my dislike of missing deadlines. So I can understand that there was tardiness as well.) But, regardless, this was a very cool idea, and it prompted me to write something I'm not entirely unhappy with, and which I'm pretty sure I would never have written otherwise. And, while I haven't had the chance to read most of the posts yet, what I have read, finished or otherwise, has been good. Heck, I'd say this thing was entirely worthwhile just for having led to the production of the two stories I beta'd.
