AU fic wherein River is the older Tam sibling and Simon the younger. River is sent off to train as a Companion, where she meets Inara Serra, and they eventually form a close bond. Meanwhile, River's brother Simon is sent to the Academy. Story will mainly focus on the relationship between River and Inara, while staying somewhat close to 'canon' for the Tam siblings (River's still a bit unbalanced, the Academy is still not a good place to be).
