So nice. The way you interpreted the song makes so much sense; I'd have never thought of applying it to Charlie and his students, but it's perfect. Also, some of your imagery evokes the lyricism of the song beautifully. The voices are all good; even when there are no dialogue tags I can tell who's speaking, and the relationships ring right for the time period, too. Thank you! This is a treat. :)

You're very welcome! :-) I'm just glad it worked; this was the only idea that really struck a chord in my mind, so I wrote it even though it's far from what I would normally write in this fandom. (That's what I love about lyric wheel challenges.)

As for the imagery, well, the song is pretty inspiring. I lifted at least one image almost wholesale from the lyrics ("halo of chalk dust and gold"--okay, just the one word), because it was so perfect for Charlie.

Thanks for letting me know that the voices were okay, too. I reworked the phone conversations several times, because I was worried about that. :-)
