Deadline extended
Mar. 31st, 2012 11:25 amThe deadline for sign-ups has passed, but I am extending it another 12 hours, because Certain People who said they were going to sign up... appear to have forgotten about the time-difference. Again.

Finish-a-thon Post of Squee!
Mar. 27th, 2012 03:33 pmThis is the post where we jump up and down and squee about the bunnies and stories that people are offering to write. And quite possibly try to persuade others to vote for our favourites when voting time comes.
So come and delight and be expressive! (Or just go "guh!"; we don't mind)
(Edited to add) See the list of authors or the full list of author info to see what there is to squee about!

Finish-a-thon 2012 Sign Ups!
Mar. 17th, 2012 07:57 pmAnnouncing... finish-a-thon 2012! Yes, we're doing it again.
Remember all those poor, neglected plot bunnies that have been starving from lack of attention, because all those ficathons kept on having higher priority? The stories you wish you could finish, if only you could find the time? Well, fear not, the finish-a-thon is coming to the rescue!
The finish-a-thon is a ficathon, with all the ficathon-like things like deadlines and fellow volunteers to encourage you, but with this ficathon, you write your own ideas. But since part of the encouragement of a ficathon is writing things for other people, what we're going to do, is vote for which story ideas people should write.
I have set up a website to facilitate the ficathon, including a handy-dandy sign-up form which should make entering all the information easier.
PLEASE let me know if you have any problems.
Dates
Sign-ups end:
AEST: Saturday 31st March 2012, 8am
GMT : 30th March 2012, 10pm
Stories due:
AEST: 9th June 2012, 10am
GMT : 8th June 2012, midnight
(more detailed date information is in the Rules and FAQ page)
Note that you can edit your sign-up information as much as you want until the sign-up deadline, at which point editing will be disabled.

Finish-a-thon 2012, Poll Poll
Feb. 27th, 2012 09:41 pmHello everyone!
I'm thinking of opening this year's sign-ups for the finish-a-thon about mid-March, which is a little earlier than last year.
I'm also wondering if I should change the format of the polls. I don't think anyone chose "participants only" last year, and it would probably be simpler if everyone had the same format of poll, that is the "all interested parties" version. I put it to y'all with a poll. 8-)

Do you want the poll for the finish-a-thon to the same for everyone and make it open to all interested parties?
AO3 Collection and No Lyrics
Aug. 23rd, 2011 04:25 pmThe AO3 collection for the 2011 Finish-a-thon is now up. Sorry for the delay.
http://archiveofourown.org/collections/finishathon_2011
I've also decided not to try to run a Lyric Wheel this year; it's already far past when I said I would do it, and I just don't have the energy. (sigh)
Maybe next year. Maybe not.

Finish-a-thon 2011 Master Post!
Jun. 25th, 2011 10:45 amStories are now due!
If you have finished
Make a comment here, saying "finished", and the URL where the story is.
If you have a partially complete story
Make a comment here, saying "partial", and the URL where the partial story or 1000-word extract is.
If you have nothing to post
Make a comment here, saying "tried", and some explanation as to why you did not succeed.
I am using the awesome power of the finish-a-thon wiki to present the story-finished results in a neat manner, in the Author Status Page. This page will be updated periodically as the information comes in.
