We are waiting for two more people: izhilzha and liminalliz.

Well, this just gives me more time to work on the site before I upload it.

I've decided to do like the Multiverse ficathon, and keep the authors' names suppressed for a week so that people can enjoy the stories without knowing who wrote them. I don't have a comment facility on the site, maybe people could comment here? I think that would be good. Not sure how to set it up though.

Sure, you can set up a "comment" thread on the LiveJournal site. Just post a message telling us the site is active and then under it have the series of comments on the post each titled the name of one of the fics. So you'd have fifteen (I think that was the total number of stories expected you gave us back at the start of it all) comments each one titled "Comment for [title of story]" or something like that and all the people who read the story can comment under that heading in a "reply to post" type of thread.

And you can link back to that comments message at the end of each story so people can come back to livejournal to comment.

It sounds more confusing than it really is. Because explaining makes me feel like I just had a small dog wrap me up in its leash. :^)

Oh I get what you're saying... it would require me to put the comment threads up before the site was actually up, so I would know what the URL was for each comment-thread for each story...
I almost feel inclined to just put one comments message for all of them -- but then all the comments would be mixed up. Except the thought of doing fifteen posts and cut-and-pasting the urls is... tiring.

On the other hand, re-reading your message... I could compromise by making one announcement post, and as you say, fifteen comment-posts on that post, and rather than having to do fifteen cut-and-pastes I could be lazy and just link to the parent post... maybe.

Yes, this exactly. There is really no need to make it more difficult than it has to be. And I think most of us are familiar enough with LJ to be able to navigate the one-parent-post-fifteen-comment-posts to find the comment thread we should use to give feedback on a particular story.

Or you could just put at the end of each story for people to review/give feedback in this LJ - and link to the LJ as a whole. Although I think we all have to be members to create new posts, and not just watchers, so you would have to create the first post of the thread anyway....

Hmmm... it gets stickier the longer I think about it. But maybe I am over thinking.

I shall attempt to be patient. I just hope they go up before my mother shows up and steals all my reading-things-online time from me. Though I'm actually marginally relieved at not feeling compelled to explain what the heck I was thinking when I wrote mine for at least another week. :)

I am frantically working on my website generator, Posy trying to get some plugins working which will enable me to generate multiple indexes, so that I can have things by title, by universe, by requester... but things keep on going wrong (sigh).

Didn't actually do much today as I was out shoe-shopping.

I don't know whether you want your webpages to display correctly in 800x600 resolution, but that Posy page doesn't.

Um, define "display correctly"? When I shrink my browser window down to 800x600, the page is perfectly readable. Are you using a browser that understands CSS?

I'm using IE6 on Win98SE.

What I see is the left-hand "column" of text hiding the left-hand part of the right-hand column. The left-hand column seems to be too wide, perhaps driven by accommodating the text "Home>Tools>Posy>Plugins" without wrapping.

I'm not sure that I understand your reference to shrinking the browser window. I'm talking about the desktop resolution. I'm using 800x600 with Large Fonts (which I should have mentioned before, in case that's relevant).

I note that http://www.katspace.net/updates/ does display correctly, even though it also has 2 columns.

Ah. I suspected as much. I can't test IE, since I don't have MS-Windows in any shape or form, but IE has a reputation for being non-compliant to the CSS standards.
Unfortunately, because of the way my web-host is set up, until they change their webserver from Zeus to Apache, I can't do dynamic pages with browser detection, so I've gone for my default CSS layout, rather than the extra special CSS layout which only works with IE.

In the meantime, try this alternative index.

Well, because the resolution of my screen is 1280x1024, in order to see whether something is readable at 800x600, I have to shrink my browser window to that size.
