kerravonsen: rainbow sparkles: "Squee!" (squee!)
[personal profile] kerravonsen posting in [community profile] multific
One thing I am missing about this year's sign-ups is the squee that people would do when they saw what people have signed up with. So, in the name of "Take Back The Glee" Year, I hereby open the Post of Squee.

Take a look (and come back to) the Full Author List, and post here about the story ideas that you are squeeful about.

ETA2: I have added links back to this post, so you can click on a link at the individual author page and it will post it here! (I love it when a plan comes together)

I am cackling evilly because Izh has signed up a Numb3rs/Passage bunny, which means that I have succeeded in my evil plan of putting a bug for Connie Willis fic in her brain.

(I approve of this post!!)

I'm a little sorry not to be participating this year, although the finish-a-thon still gets credit for spurring me to write something I might not have otherwise gotten around to. But I am pleased to see that so many people have signed up again this year. Not to mention the fact that, wow, there's a real diversity of fandoms represented there!

I know, I'm bummed that I'm not playing this year, either. *sniffs* But huzzah, Finish-a-thon!! Still the best ficathon ever!

Why hasn't anyone done this before? I mean, it's an idea crying out to be done.

That was basically my response. Oh, man, I hope this one wins.

The story that started out as "The Dowager Duchess of Denver meets the DoctorDonna" and turned into "Jack Harkness picks on somebody his own age for once" - an epistolary tale, in which the Dowager Duchess confesses to her daughter-in-law about her mad fling with a dashing American, and Lady Peter wildly abuses her husband's Home Office connections. Gratuitous Agatha Christie and swing dancing!

I never thought I'd be eager to see Lord Peter (or, well, his female relations) crossed over with anyone from any other fandom, but this sounds fantastic. *g*

Time is out of joint. Both the (5th) Doctor and Sapphire & Steel investigate, and are caught up in its coils.

Oh, my. #5 has always been my very favorite classic-era Doctor, and while I have seen almost no Sapphire & Steel, I've been intrigued by the concept since forever as well. Tempting, tempting....

Genly Ai/Estraven. Neither slash nor het, but definitely smut. During the crossing of the ice, Genly falls into the white. Estraven saves him, and the two of them finally act on the sexual tension that went on through the whole darn book. Occurs not long before the Tragic Ending, so there's also the potential for angst.

YES PLEASE!!!

the grene kni3t
"The London Revenants, or, Phileas Fogg versus the Zombies." Just when Jean Passepartout believes he has finally found stability, the occupants of 7 Savile Row find themselves surrounded by flesh-hungry undead Londoners.

There really should be a lot more Phileas Fogg fic out there! I've always loved Around the World in Eighty Days and loved it even more after reading Philip Jose Farmer's own published fanfic, The Other Log of Phileas Fogg, so this sounds like amazing fun!

Vana Tuivana
Fourth Age, possibly AU depending on how you look at it. The Elves are departing. Gildor Inglorion, last King of the Noldor, is lonely; the River-woman is there.

Gildor/Goldberry's mum? That sounds too delicious for words! Imagine having a fling with Tom Bombadil's mother-in-law!

Thette
The unholy crossover! The Sixth Doctor discovers a dying Time Lady and the Teletubbies she protects from Dalek extermination. My attempt to explain why the Teletubbies have a Tardis.

YES!!

Gray Cardinal
Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Mary Poppins
that Spike once crossed paths with one Marie Poppins, who was (a) a good deal more dangerous than her literary self, and (b) as much a thorn in the Council's side as she was in Spike's.

Wow! Now *that's* a plot-bunny dying to be told!

CalliopesPen
Doctor Who/Highlander
Martha turns out to be Pre-Immortal.

Of course she is! It makes perfect sense!

Rhapsody the Bard
Five voices (working title). This is a response to the Lort Gen fic challenge with the theme of "Young and Old", in which you should have two characters interacting: one young and one old. There should be at least one generation between the two characters, who may be of any race or era of Middle-earth. This story is also a personal fic request of Dreamflower: LotR--which Elves left with Sam? What did they think of him?

Please cover your ears: *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!* Oh, I do hope that this one gets picked!!!

Clocketpatch
Doctor Who/Chronicles of Narnia
Not actually started. Inspired on the BBC adaption of the Silver Chair: so, it turns out that Puddleglum is actually a Time Lord in disguise

And another "AHA! Why didn't *I* think of that?" idea! It seems perfectly clear to me that it had to be...

Febobe
"Starved" - Post-Quest, Frodo (and Sam) have trouble readjusting to life - and eating - as usual. Deals with the psychological and emotional consequences of starvation.

*grin* I really love this idea, as it includes Sam as well as Frodo, and I look forward to lots of lovingly described invalid trays!

melannen
In this story, Methos gets knocked out and wakes up in a strange land...

I can so totally see Methos as Dorothy! And I love Amanda the Occasionally Unethical.

Dr. Who / Lord Peter Wimsey
The story that started out as "The Dowager Duchess of Denver meets the DoctorDonna" and turned into "Jack Harkness picks on somebody his own age for once"

This is such a cool idea! The DD is one of my favorite Sayers' characters! And I can just imagine Donna's reaction at meeting her!

Leia Naberrie
Luke rescues a young runaway from Jabba's Palace and brings her home to the Lars' farmstead. No good deed goes unpunished.

It's the last sentence that gets me--I love stories in which all the best intentions in the world go astray!

Becca Stareyes
A parody of epic poetry (in which I'll attempt to do it in iambic pentameter blank verse) in which Anoia, the Disc's Goddess of Things that Get Stuck in Drawers, and Bilious, the Oh, God of Hangovers, attempt to pay the Gods' water bill before the Disc's oceans run out.

This idea sounds so very Prachett-esque, I can imagine him coming up with it himself!

Kathryn Andersen
Doctor Who/Buffy
in which Buffy and the Doctor have adventures and stuff.

I read the first story a few weeks ago! I'm delighted to see a sequel is planned!
